The Brembo 'Red Shim' disc pads have been selected following rigorous bench testing and thorough road trails for its performance, reliability and durability, to provide the shortest possible stopping distances, whatever the road conditions.
Lower wear also means a longer pad life. Under normal city and suburban driving, disc pads operate at 250°c or less. Brembo disc pads have been formulated to resist wear at these lower operating temperatures to extend their service life. Surprisingly the lower wear characteristics haven't been at the sacrifice of performance. Higher friction coefficient basically means better stopping power. Brembo's semi metallic friction material formulation maintains a higher friction coefficient and exhibits a more constant lineal decline across the operating range than many equivalent disc pads, even against traditional well performing low metallic formulas. While most pads, including some well-known performance formulas top out at around 500 - 550°c Brembo's disc pads are designed to continue performing on to a very impressive 650°c.
